Our client was looking to update and reinvigorate a well-loved family home and we stepped in to provide a phased interior decoration project across the 5 main rooms.
The flow of the ground floor needed work, so we reconfigured with the relocation and widening of entranceways and new walls which transitioned it into a more practical space to function according to the family's needs.
Kitchen: An inherited red and cream gloss kitchen was completely transformed with an injection of olive-green paint, Calacatta Nuovo Cimstone and Amtico flooring. We also upgraded the dining space with a beautiful concrete topped dining table and Scandi inspired chairs and introduced a cosy family chill-out nook with bespoke carpentry, made-to-order sofa, and a selection of hand-picked fun and interesting soft furnishings and decorative accessories.
Lounge: Next up on the mandate was a lulling lounge with a cosy, atmospheric vibe. We painted the walls, ceiling and all woodwork in our trustworthy F&B Cornforth White, to create a seamless, and calming effect. A tonal mix of linen, knotted fabrics, velvet and sandblasted oak vintage furniture and contemporary accessories give this room character and charm.
Home Office: Our client works from home and sought our help transforming her disused gym, into an inviting home office space. The brief was simple - functional, comfortable and conducive to productivity! We loved upcycling her existing desk painting it in F&B’s Vert de Terre and adding polished brass door pulls as handles. We also revived a tired Ikea storage unit with super spacious sea-grass baskets and added a selection of carefully chosen decorative accessorised in soft, earthy colours to infuse the space with a sense of comfort and belonging, inspiring both focus and contentment in equal measure.
Master Bedroom: In our world, a cozy bedroom serves as a sanctuary for rest, rejuvenation, and relaxation. With that in mind, we opted for a layered look for this master bedroom, comprising soft, inviting, and textured, wall coverings, cushions, rugs, shades and throws to create an atmosphere of comfort and security. The open top 4-poster bed, fringed side lamp, French style dresser and antique framed wall-art, injected personality throughout, to make it feel truly like home.
Playroom: This old spare bedroom was converted into a much-needed kids’ playroom, which was practically designed for the storage of toys, to have fun movie nights, and of course, play!
The sofa's cheerful upholstery and colour-pop cushions complement the playroom's playful palette, creating an inviting atmosphere. Adjacent to the seating area, a spacious Mustard storage locker offers a stylish and useful solution to keeping toys, games, and art supplies neatly organized, ensuring that clutter is always at bay. We also went ‘practical’ making use of Ikea’s Skadis pegboard for young artists to showcase their masterpieces. The combination of these elements created a vibrant and imaginative space that seamlessly blends functionality with creativity.
